The Festivals of Banglades

 

         The festivals of a country reflect the culture of that particular country. In the history of Bangladesh festivals have always played a significant role in the life of the people of Bangladesh. Those are parts and parcels of Bangalee culture and tradition. Bangladeshi daily life is replete with traditions and festivals that reflect the unique culture and tradition of Bangladeshis. Some of the tradition and customs are as very ancient, while others are relatively recent.
            The indigenous customs and festivals that has been preserved and nurtured through the ages are principally center around agricultural practices.  These include nabonno (the festival of the new harvest) and pawhela boishAkh (the Bengali new Year). Pawhela Boishakh is the first day of Bangle new year which is celebrated in the whole country in a briefing Manner.             Religion has also played a distinct role in shaping the mores and traditions of Bangladeshi life. As the majority of the people of Bangladesh are Muslims therefore the main two festivals for the Muslims in Bangladesh are Eid-ul-Fitr, and Eid-ul-Azha. Eid-ul-Fitr is the biggest Muslims festival which is celebrated on the following month of Ramadan. The other festivals celebrated by the Muslim people in Bangladesh are Ramadan, Shab-e-Qadr, Shab-e-Barat, First Muharram etc. The minority people of Bangladesh Hindu, Cristian and Buddhist also celebrate their religion festivals like, Kalipuja, Borodin, Bodho Purnima and so on. http://www.virtualbangladesh.com/bd_festivals.html

     Furthermore, Bangladesh people also celebrate the national occasions such as Independent Day, Victory Day, international and Mother Language Day. People celebrate the Independent day on 26th of March as on that day Bangladesh was recognized as an independent country in the world map. The Victory Day of Bangladesh is 16th December as on that day in 1971 the people of Bangladesh was inspired to fight for the freedom of their own country. In addition, another biggest national festival for the people of Bangladesh is international Mother language Day. This day Is celebrated on 21st February as on this day in 1949 many bright university students of Bangladesh sacrificed their live for the sake of the language.
